Only a mother knows the bond that is formed when a child is placed in her arms for the first time. The look of her child, the sound of her child, the smell, the animalistic connection that solidifies the union of mother and child forms a bond like no other, and the process of nurturing and protecting begins. When a child is stolen from its mother, emotions too numerous to detail happen all at once, within a matter of seconds. Someone the mother had trusted has broken the bond between mother and child. The child is gone and a fury like no other begins. Here is a compelling story of one mother in search of her child. She can't give up; she won't give up, not until she knows the truth.

Stolen Child Karen Nolan 9781878398314 Books Reviews
A heart warming book. I couldn't put the book down until it was finished. I laugh, cried and felt upset at the end of what the Florida government had done to her and her family. She didn't deserve this nor did her child.
The book was a easy reading, very open of the time line, but well worth it to read to learn what can happen and did happen to her and her stolen child. I hope this book is read by many and a the news gets out of what Florida government did, hopefully other missing children can be found as well. A mother will always have unconditional love for their children.
My son bought this book for me as a gift today and it couldn't have came at a better time. I believe there was a "God" reason for that. I read the book straight through without stopping. Karen's story not only brings tears, but also fear and anger. I truly understand her distrust of our "system", the one that portrays commercials on Television, Billboards on the sides of the highway, etc... telling us to "trust them" when things get tough! They can be crafty and many unsuspecting can be naive, who isn't guilty of being too "trusting" I know I have been.
This book is also well written from beginning to end, very clear and precise. There is no skipping around as to confuse the reader. Her story grabs your attention. An easy read.
I am a Psychology Major and this is one book that I will be sharing with everyone in my classes, my Professors, and a local Attorney friend who is well versed with the "system".
May justice prevail and that no others will have to endure what Karen and her family have.

This book reaches out and grabs you from the first page until the amazing ending....makes you really think how trusting we really are! great read!
Great written story, it was very interesting from the beginning to the end. I could not put the book down. Karen I can't believe what you and your family went through, you are one very determine and tough woman!
True emotion from the first page to the last. Many people cannot express these feelings but can be helped by knowing they are not the only ones with trials.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in one night. it was well-written, thought-provoking and left me so angry at what the state did to this family. I pray that Karen and her kids get the justice they so richly deserve!
Author Nolan's story is compelling, heartbreaking, and ultimately a testament to a mother's deep faith and connection with her child. Nolan recounts the harrowing journey of trying to find and reclaim her child after he is taken for an "evaluation." The journey takes more than 20 years and there are still many unanswered questions, the main one being How Could This Happen?? This story needs to be told, and perhaps it will lead to some accountability on the part of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
